Hair donation/selling questions?

Hi! I was flat on my back for over a year, then I kept growing my hair with the intent of donating it to Locks of Love. Thank goodness I accidentally discovered what a total SCAM they are running (ie never give to kids w/cancer as they repeatedly say on TV %26amp; more). I would throw it out before I would help them profit.

That said, I have at least 24" of untreated thick hair. Does anyone know of any credible sources to donate to besides Locks of Love? If not, anyone know any place that pays well. Figure I could donate the difference after expenses. The places I've found pay so cleaply that it wouldn't be worth bothering with.

I'd love any suggestions. And if anyone stumbles on this ever, PLEASE web search Locks of Love if, like me, you are thinking of giving to them. What a disappointment to find out they almost never give to cancer patients, only to those w/permanent hair loss, make hardly any wigs %26amp; they earn six figure incomes. Check em out...you'll see.

is another nonprofit group that accepts donated hair. This organization also gives hairpieces to children affected by medical hair loss. Their hair donation guidelines are slightly different -- hair must be 12 inches long and must not be permed or color-treated in any way.
