I will be alone with my scene hair! what can i do?

I am getting a scene hair cut and i really love the whole look because it shows you are individual to everyone else not every scene kid looks the same.

I want to get hair cut and get it dyed and add some streaks and extensions too. But at school all my friends are ordinary looking people and i feel like i will not fit in well. There are like no scene kids in my school and there are like 3 emo people but i dont really like them. There are also hardly any scene/ emo kids about and around where i live so i have like hardly anyone scene. I just want to look different to everyone else. Please help. Thanks. please be nice to me. P.s: I live in jersey channel islands. so there are like no scene kids.

I will be alone with my scene hair! what can i do?

Haha, I live near you. And youre right, there are NO scene kids at all. But that doesnt really matter!

Doing the whole "scene" thing is about being individual and different, and not caring what other people think. Youre goal is to be an individual, right? It wont matter if nobody else is, youre doing your own thing and you should be proud of it. If anyone says anything, theyre just jealous cause they dont have the guts to stand out and be different from anyone else like you do.

If you want to be different, dont let anyone hold you back.

Also, if you friends say they dont want to be friends with you because you want to be scene or whatever, then they arent good friends. No matter how you look, youre still going to be the same person inside and still be a great friend. They arent really being good friends if they say theyre going to dump you just because of a little thing like cutting your hair. Seriously. If they care more about your looks then who you actually are, they really arent being good friends.

And lastly, dont forget that you dont really need to be friends with other scene kids just because theyre scene!

Ive met scene kdis and tried to befriend them, but it turns out that they were really stuck up and had no personalities. Im not saying all of them are like that, but you dont really need to have scene friends just because theyre scene! Im scene, but almost all my friends are just normal people and i lvoe them to death! So yeah, just be friends with people because you like them and not cos theyre scene, you know?

Go for the haircut looking different is good. There are probably other kids at your school who want to get a haircut like that but are afraid of the same thing as you.

I will be alone with my scene hair! what can i do?

uhhh woah your way over yourself but i get what your saying and first off your not getting a scene hair cut your getting choppy layers lots of em just be your SELF and yea

I will be alone with my scene hair! what can i do?

If they're your friends then they won't care about your haircut.

I mean they aren't going to say to you,

I hate your hair and then ditch you.

That just wouldn't happen because it will make them look like a really mean person.

good Luck閳?br>I will be alone with my scene hair! what can i do?

"i want to be an individual but i'm afraid i might not fit in!"

get your hair in typical style but just not go way to much dramatic with it all. by the way, following a scene trend isn't the best way to prove you are individualistic... its a trend...

I will be alone with my scene hair! what can i do?

uhm yah, your lame.

1) a REAL scene kid does not care what other people think. its just hair.

2) you sterotype yourself WAY to much. you dont have to hang with scene kids or even scene looking kids.

Why did my hair color change and it hair/scalp smells?

im a half asian/half hungarian kid almost 17 and my hair color changed about2 or 3 years. I was placed in boarding school bout the same time. (i had a brown hair at the time) one day i started getting alot of dandruff andmy dctor told me to use head and shoulders everyday until the problem. well the problem went away and all of a sudden my hair started to stink real bad and i notice the color of my hair changed. i shower almost everyday and i tried so many shampoos to get rid of the smell but none worked.i tried pills and they dont work. i never bleached or dyed my hair. If anyone has any solutions to either of these problems pleasee contact me..anything successful for others is worth a try for me.thanks

Why did my hair color change and it hair/scalp smells?

You need to see a doctor. There is no reason, except for a medical reason, for your scalp to smell bad. Have it checked out!

Why did my hair color change and it hair/scalp smells?

Maybe you have an infection or something, go see a doctor. Maybe it's cradle cap, but I'm pretty sure you can only get that when you're a little kid.

Why did my hair color change and it hair/scalp smells?

Maybe it is just a reaction to this shampoo.

Why did my hair color change and it hair/scalp smells?

You could have psoriasis of the scalp, but that wouldn't cause a change in color. Is there a lot of iron in your water? It could give you a red tingr to your hair and it does have an odor.

Why did my hair color change and it hair/scalp smells?

It may be due to genetic reasons as well as chemical reaction. Use home remedies to get rid of dandruff.

Why did my hair color change and it hair/scalp smells?

I'd go to a doctor. It has to be an infection of some kind I would think.

Different hair styles?

I have like dead strait hair

its a kind of light brown

pretty thin

about one inch below the shoulders

im sick of it just lying next to my face what are some easy things to do to my hair to change it up for simple things like school

im 14 so nothing to kid like please

and pictures are always great help!!

thanks

Different hair styles?

You can try getting a thickening serum, like Paul Mitchell. And apply that to wet hair.

With a round brush and with your hair still wet, blow dry it. Either flip your ends in, or curl them out, whichever you prefer.

That should help to give it a bit more body.

Also, you can get a haircut that has a bit of layers. That always helps me.

I also use a body shampoo. I also have very thin hair, about two inches below my shoulders.

I just have to style it everyday, or else it lays to my face again.

But that's what I do and it helps me A LOT!

Different hair styles?

The hair that is on the sides of your face could be put back behind your head and kind of put it in a ponytail - that's what my sister does. Personally, i don't like it, so i just let my hair hang there - my boyfriend likes it that way =P.

Cheers,

L姘搖ren - anyone can make a difference.

Different hair styles?

get some layers that will help to shape your face or a popular style is to cut it short which makes it easy to style and a fringe might be a good idea

Different hair styles?

You can put it half way up.

Or pull your bangs back.

Anything like that would be cute.

Or even before you dry it, put a curling mousse or spray and scruch it with your fingers while your drying it.

Different hair styles?

get blonde highlights, and make it curly

Different hair styles?

Hop onto the internet and look up some celebrity hairstyles. A lot of celebs have dead straight hair, and it might give you an idea of what to do with yours if you can look at what others have done. When I feel like going for a new look, before i go to the hairdressers, i have a look online and see if i can find a style i like, (or two or three), then i print them out and go to the hairdressers. then I ask my hairdresser which one will suit my hair type best, and what I have to do to achieve that look (and how much it will cost.) (like if I need a colour change, need hair curler / straightener or specific shampoo or whatever).

At least that way if the hairdresser has a picture or printout of what style you are actually going for, they can make sure it will work for your hair type, and will know how to cut it. (Dont go to a salon on a night where they have students on or something, you want an experienced, fully qualified hairdresser who knows what they are doing.)

I had long dead straight hair last year. Mine is brown and boring, so I ended up getting it layered in long layers, and got a few blonde, gold and caramel highlights through it, ala cameron diaz at one of the charlies angels premieres. (Cost me about 150 bucks though! (mainly because of the colour) But it looked really good! Maybe dont worry about colour, a good decent cut might be 35- 40 bucks in Australia, but if you get the right cut, it will look good as it grows out too, so you wont have to get a haircut every couple of months.

Good luck with it!

My babys hair color?

i am having a baby girl in june. i have dark brown hair and brown eyes and so does the father of the child. but the fathers mother and grandmother have red hair. is my kid going to have red hair?

My babys hair color?

its possible, but brown hair is more dominate...so more than likely she'll have brown. maybe a golden brown though...??

My babys hair color?

Probably not.

My babys hair color?

There is no way to say. It is a possibility your child will inherit the red hair, but also as dark hair and eyes are dominant, she could also inherit yours.

Wait and see!

My babys hair color?

There is no way to tell before you give birth. Its the luck of the draw and part of the beauty of having a baby - seeing whose traits the baby gets!

My babys hair color?

its possible but brown is the dominate gene so more than likely she will have brown hair but it can turn out to be red it all depends!!!!!! good luck and congrats on the little girl!!!!!

My babys hair color?

probably not--it is actually a "blonde" gene that has mutated. dark usually "covers" blonde.

My babys hair color?

Make a punnet square to find out.

My babys hair color?

no. brown hair is dominant. red hair is recessive. the only way for your girl to have red hair is if you had a red hair gene and it paired up with your husbands one red hair gene. and if a brown haired gene paired with a red head gene then the brown would win.

My babys hair color?

Its possible, red hair runs in my and my husbands family's. Genetics is a funny thing. I have a friend who just a baby with bright red hair, and she has brown hair and brown eyes and her husband is Mexican so what does that tell you.

She will be cute either way. Everyone in my family wants me to have a red haired baby.

My babys hair color?

properly not

My babys hair color?

Hmm. It usually depends on genetics. I think your baby could only have red rair if both you and your husband have a heterozygous gene for brown hair. This means that you and your husband would both have to have one dominant gene and one recessive gene. So the probability of you having a baby with red hair would probably be a 25% chance if you both had heterozygous genes.

My babys hair color?

well it could and it couldnt.

brown is a dominate trait

my friend has orange hair and a face full of freakles and her mom and dad dont. but her grandmother has red/orange hair.

so your baby could have red hair too.

My babys hair color?

It is possible, my mom is American Indian with very dark hair and dark brown eyes, my dad is German with brown hair and blue eyes, I was born with Red (strawberry blond/Auburn) hair and green/blue eyes. My two sisters have brown hair and brown eyes, and so does my oldest brother, while my other two brothers have brown/blond hair and blue eyes. My husband has dark brown hair and I have brown/red hair (it has darkened as I've gotten older) and our 18 month old has a dirty blond/strawberry hair color. So its a really hard thing to guess...oh did I mention I am the ONLY one in my family with redish colored hair.

Hair loss.....?

OK...I am 22 years old and have had 3 kids. 8 months ago I got my tubes tied. For the past couple of months, when I brush my hair a lot of hairs ends up in my brush. I have to clean my brush out 3 times a week. I don't think my hair is getting any thinner. Is this ok?

Hair loss.....?

Baldness, hair grow %26amp; regrow formula

8 oz. avocado oil

30 gram rosemary

5 drops peppermint oil

mix these three ingredients

you can either place them in a glass container (heat resistant) and place in an oven for 20 minutes at 300 deg F OR place in a dark colored glass bottle and store a dark place for 6 weeks

once you have completed the above step, strain the oil to remove the rosemary

(use cheese cloth or similar cloth and squeeze the extra oil out)

once you have strained the oil you can massage one teaspoonful into your scalp three times a day

store the unused portion in a dark colored bottle in a cool dark place (not cold), you can store it for up to 3 months

Hair loss.....?

hair loss is never a good sign...you are too young to have thinning. i would check with your MD. Having your tubes tied shouldn't affect your hormones, so I doubt it's that.

Here is what I think, honey...you are 22 with 3 kids? Betcha it's stress. Get someone to watch the kids for a few hours so you can take a nice warm bath, listen to music, do your nails...take care of yourself!! Also, make sure you are taking vitamins.

What are our chances of having red-haired kids?

Hi there! I'm a female of Lebanese (Mediterranean) descent with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, marrying a man of north European descent (Irish-German-Polish) with flaming Cheeto-red hair and brown eyes. What are our chances of having red-haired kids?

My mother and dad: Both dark brown hair, dark brown eyes. Interestingly, due to the European influence to the Lebanese population over the centuries, my dad's dad had platinum blonde hair and ice blue eyes, and at least a couple of my great-grandparents had dirty blonde hair and hazel or green eyes.

His mother and dad: Mom has green eyes and auburn hair. Dad had blue eyes and dirty blonde hair. (His brother has blue eyes and dirty blonde hair.)

Thanks for your input! This will be fun. :-)

What are our chances of having red-haired kids?

The genetics of hair is still under study, but it is believed that there are two sets of genes controlling 2 types of pigment.

One set controls brown/blond, or really, the darkness of the hair. The brown is dominant. The other set is red/not red, where the not red is dominant. If someone is brown/brown and red/red, they will show brown because the darker pigment will override the red pigment.

It sounds like your husband is homozygous recessive in both genes, which makes this easier. He's likely bbrr (blond and red) so he shows red hair.

Your mom is likely BB/RR while your dad may either be BB/RR OR Bb/RR. This means you are either BB/RR or Bb/RR (50% chance each although it's more likely that you're the former as you have dark brown hair). So if the current model of hair genetics holds up, you children would be either be:

Bb/Rr or bb/Rr. This means they'll at most be heterozygous for red hair and they'll carry the gene, but won't show it. Since hair coloring seems to work by incomplete dominance, they'll likely have lighter brown hair even if they're Bb and might be dirty blond if they're bb. Unfortunately, they probably won't have red hair unless someone in your family had a red hair gene that you carry.

That was fun!

What are our chances of having red-haired kids?

There is a less than half percent. It depends on whether the red hair is a recessive gene ( most likely ) or dominant. The dominant rules over the recessive so most likely the child will have brownish hair. There is a slight chance that he could get red hair though.

What are our chances of having red-haired kids?

hahahaha i can tell you dont want fire crotch kids

I'm learning this in biology right now... the chances are 50/50 pretty much.

What are our chances of having red-haired kids?

You would need two copies of this recessive gene. Very low prevalence in world populations.

What are our chances of having red-haired kids?

you have the dominant genes witht the dark hair and dark eyes so your's will more than likely trump his rare red hair. so I'd say pretty low.

What are our chances of having red-haired kids?

Congratulations on the wedding!

Red hair is one of the few simple cases of one gene creating a trait. MC1R comes either in the dominant not-red or the recessive red. Your husband is clearly a homozygous red. You are unlikely to carry the gene and the brown/blond hair color comes from a different gene. You are probably carrying the not-red gene. Your husband likely also carries the blond recessive. Your children could receive the blond from you, if you have it, then 1/2 your children may be blond.

Your children will all carry the red recessive so if any of them pair with someone carrying the red recessive your grandchildren could have red or reddish hair by inheriting the recessive from both parents.

If it should show up by skipping a generation into your grandchildren the red gene can influence the shade of brown or blond by giving it a red cast if it is unopposed by the not-red.

These two genes for hair color are not all there is. There are several genes to control intensity of color. Therefore, the more of the intensity genes that are dominant, the darker the hair will be and the less any reddening will show even in blond.

So blondness involves having just a few (one to two? I don't know) functioning pigment genes. For red hair you need both blondness (1 to few functional pigmenting genes) and red pigment genes, resulting in either reddish hair or really red hair.

A possible indicator of the red recessive gene's presence can be freckles. However people can have freckles who do not carry the recessive for red hair.

My 6 year girl has thin hairs ,suggest any home remedy for her hair ,i want her hair thick and long

I heard that, if you cut your hair regulerly your hairs become thick and strong (specily for kids )is this true?

My 6 year girl has thin hairs ,suggest any home remedy for her hair ,i want her hair thick and long ?.?

I have seen in many families that they shave off all the hair atleast 2 times in a girls childhood so that she grows up to have very thick hair and from the results I have seen all of those girls did grow up to have extremely thick hair. There is no proven fact,I am only telling you what I have noticed. Your daughter is still young and I think if you are very concerned its worth the try and the hair usually grows back fast. Don't forget to massage it with almond oil, avoid shampoos and give her a good diet. Hope this helps!

My 6 year girl has thin hairs ,suggest any home remedy for her hair ,i want her hair thick and long ?.?

No, its just a myth. they say that because when men shave, it looks like it grows back faster. because of the stubs. it does nothing. If you want her to have Thick long hair, Try and feed her good foods.(vegetables for example, Or Fish, Proteins)

My 6 year girl has thin hairs ,suggest any home remedy for her hair ,i want her hair thick and long ?.?

not true......usually hereditary

My 6 year girl has thin hairs ,suggest any home remedy for her hair ,i want her hair thick and long ?.?

it depends on hereditary.

by giving soaked small black whole chenna daily in the morning but not more than 10 beans u can make them some what thick

Bleaching my hair?

http://eur.i1.yimg.com/eur.yimg.com/ng/m...

this is the color i want to bleach just my bangs

do u think it would look okay? i understand that i wont look natural but i dont really want it to look natural i just think it looks cool. please help i wil vote for best answer.

Bleaching my hair?

i personally dont think it will look good, but if thats what you want, go for it. just know that bleach can really damge your hair

Bleaching my hair?

i think you should just get highlights

and i love your hair style

:D

Bleaching my hair?

you cant temporarily bleach your hair. once its done its done.

Bleaching my hair?

Okay, you cant bleach your hair and then undo it, the only thing you can do if you dont like it is to dye it as close to your natural color as possible. There are peek-a-boo highlights that they can put in your bangs. Your stylist would be able to show you pictures, but basically they're going to divide your bangs in half horizontally, and leave the top half dark and bleach the bottom half, so when your bangs lay down, the underneath is blonde and it peaks through the dark hair ontop. It looks cool, but that way it wouldn't be so drastic. I dont know if it would look right if you dyed all your bangs and just your bangs. But you can try it!

Kids these days?

is it just me or have elementary school aged kids gotten brattier over the years? Back when i was in elementary school 5 or so years ago, we were all friends. Sure there were some conflicts here and there but in the end, we all had our innocence to keep us friendly with eachother. Now i do volunteer work at the elementary school child care and all those little kids are such brats to eachother! Shoving, hair pulling, slapping, punching, yelling, its gotten so much worse. Maybe its just the school? Maybe its just the home life? whats the deal?!

Kids these days?

i have noticed that as well it the way some parents are raising there kids feeling they can't discipline there child but every child needs discipline also with so many mothers having babies at a super young age when they don't know how to raise a child plays a big part in it and then you got some dead beat dads out here that are not in the child's life and sometimes that helps with the father being there

Kids these days?

Think about back then kids actually could be disciplined and got told no. Makes a difference.

Kids these days?

Yes, I agree that the kids of these days are much brattier. I think it's all the influence of today's society.

Kids these days?

I have noticed it as well I think alot of it has to do with parenting. I have taught my 5 year old daughter to be kind to everyone whether or not you like them. I have taught her to tell people if they hurt your feelings and to work it out and to include everyone in games never exclude anyone.

She comes home from school complaining about how this girl said she couldnt play with them or that girl wouldnt let someone else join in a game and that "Kayla and sara" arent friends anymore because they didnt play at circle time together. You know just petty ridiculous stuff and these girls attack each other for it.

Kids these days?

it is a combination of both, but it all starts in the home. In this day and age their is less discipline, parents fell guilty and give their kids whatever they want, parents worked long hours and don't have the time or energy to fool around with their kids, spoiled, and the list goes on.

You should of heard the language and talk that was coming out of this group of boys the other day at the park across from where we live. Now mind you we live in an upscale neighborhood. These boys were only about 7 at the oldest. It was pure filth and you wouldn't even catch adults talking that horrid.

I use to teach in the school system both Public and Private K-3rd and got out before it got really bad. Also it depends on where you live because my Sister lives in Missouri and she says the kids there are so well behaved.

I am in California and it is bad here!!

Kids these days?

I'm 57, a retired elem/preschool teacher . I think it is that the parents are struggling so hard to keep their heads above water just to feed the family and all, that little proper attention is being paid to the kids, so they have low self worth and also low worth of other human beings, I think they don't value their own lives and that's why we are seeing so many shootings, they have no "value of human life". things need to slow down and focus on raising kids right or not having any !

Kids these days?

YES I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT TIL HIGH SCHOOL(i am in grade 7) ALL THE LITTLE KIDS SAY "do you have the panda webkinz or I AM GOING TO MEET ZAC EFRON!!! HA HA HA! i mean its not all the the kids fault THE MOM IS PRESERVING THE KIDS TO BE COOL AND PRETTY!!!! and they licve their life through their daughters!!!

Kids these days?

I have two in grade school and my experience has been much different. I've found MOST of the children to be very respectful and they all seem to get along well. Maybe their school is the exception?

Kids these days?

I think it is the home life, as I have worked in a few different elementary schools. (they were at least a hundred miles apart, so I know it wasn't the town). I think the kids know that the school can only do so much and that they have most likely seen the worst of it. They already know they can act that way at home and nothing will happen. The only consequences they have are whatever the school does, and that is generally just a phone call to the parents and/or suspension. If they had an unexpected punishment that was different than they were used to several times (different each time) then they might quit, as they wouldn't know what was coming. Also, I see children who are very well behaved, but they lack self-confidence, so they follow the crowd. If that means hair pulling and name calling, then so be it. That's what they'll do to fit in somewhere. I've found that positive reinforcement works well for that. Others just seem to think they're getting a reward for deciding to do something nice or behave well every now and then. I think that's what the deal with it is. Seems to be the person in so-called "control" and the parents.

Kids these days?

Alot has to do with both parents working to make ends meet.

Also the lack of some good old-fashioned spankings.

Kids these days?

Ya know I never see this at my children's school. I hear catty remarks made to each other but the school has a very extreme *no touch* policy. They can't even hug!

I do see boys, mostly, pulling on each other and pushing each other down at after school functions and when they are getting on the bus, but I think that's mostly rough housing- not exactly fighting.

from the girls in 3rd grade and up I see a lot of jealousy I never saw when I was a kid. already back stabbing and manipulating each other. I think they learn this from their mothers. ugh. My daughter used to come home crying every day in second and third grade from girls being catty. Now she's learned to handle herself much better.

Kids these days?

yea like my friend one time she was on the elmentary side working in the library for an elective i think and she had this little probably d3rd grader checking books out and she had told him to go ahead and scan his books but he wasnt paying attention so she started talkin to someone else and the kid goes im going to have a heartattack waiting for u to hit the button it was funny she said but really rude she said another time she was in the hall way and that some 3rd graders were in the hallway pointing and laughing at her thats totally messed up! yes they r just getting rude and brattier when i was in there we were all very very nice to each other!

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

hi.. i just got 10 inches cut off of my hair due to locks of love. i couldnt resist thinking about those poor cancer kids. soon after they cut it, i realized i look horrible with short hair. i need it to grow at least three inches by my birthday in june. help me!

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

First, your hair is dead so it needs to rest. If you get a good amount of sleep each day your hair will grow more.

Second, Maximizing you Growth Cycle. If you get the right amount of vitamins you need each day then you have a better chance of your hair growing longer.

Third, Protein is Important. Since hair is protein, a diet that is too low in protein may cause some thinning in hair or a reduction in the growth cycle. So eat plenty of protein to get strong healthy and long hair.

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

take prenatal vitamins and drink jello water

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

you have to wash it every other day and then every 3 weeks go get it trimmed

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

wash your hair a lot.

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

i would suggest to braid its the best way to grow ur hair

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

first of all, good for you for helping those kids. kudos.

you could try getting extensions..if your desperate by june.

dont use any flatirons or heated stylers, they'll weaken your hair.

supplements. but dont take the hairgrowth supplements. opt for the vitamins.

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

Maybe try some clip in extensions so add length. They can look natural as long as the color matches, and since they just clip on you don't have to spend a lot getting something sewin/glued in.

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

Do what everyone else is telling you, and braid it at night, i dont think youll achive 3 inches in a month- knowing that hair only grows 1/2 inch a month, but this will help along with all the other adivice.

Im sure it looks fine!!

Hope this helps!!

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

after you wash you hair rinse it in cold water. Or if you don't wash your hair everyday, still rinse your hair in cold water. (kinda like after you shave your legs, if you get a cold chill you can feel stubble)

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

the best way 2 get ur hair 2 grow is to wash it alot or u can braid it i would suggest braiding more

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

Good for you for helping those kids. =]

Try Rogain. It will help your hair grow super fast if you apply it often.

If you can't wait that long, get extensions. They are kind of pricy, but if you really want those long lockes.

Also, try to do cute things with your short hair while you wait it out. Try putting cute clips in it, or pigtails, or flip the ends up.

Hope this helps! =]

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

try to brush you hair for 5minutes or longer every night...

it stimulates the hair and promotes growth...

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

What you could do is go and find the Shampoo from Suave the one that says Aloe and Waterlily (You can find it on any store butthe one you can find it sorta of shipy is Wal*Mart) or look just for only anything tat has waterlily on it. Waterlily helps ur hair to grow and also gets ur hair shinny. Trust Me! :-) Also you can go to Family Dollar and look for some little pack that is called "placenta" Or somthing like that it comes on a black pack,

Good Luck

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

Washing or braiding is not going to help your hair grow faster. Too frequent washing will only strip the natural oil out your hair and make it dry. Braiding will protect it from tangling and breaking and also help protect it from environmental elements such as wind or sun if it's still long enough to braid, but it won't make it actually grow any faster. The averange growth rate of human hair is 1/2 inch per month. Taking vitamin supplements such as biotin can help it grow a bit faster than that, but unfortunately it's not likely anything will get you 3 inches of growth by June.

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

Buy coconut oil, kesavardhini oil which is a good brand of Shikakai oil.

you can buy these oils at an Indian grocery store, they are natrual and pure oils to premote hair growth.

How do you make your hair grow longer, fast?

Hi. that was nice to do. I dont know if your hair will grow that fast, but here's what I suggest. Take a multivitamin and a separate hair vitamin that has biotin in it - it will promote hair growth. You can get this at the pharmacy or someplace like GNC. There are some high potency hair vitamins, but make sure that you can take them. It might not be good for you to have such a high level of vitamin intake. Eat more fruits and veggies if you are not doing so, and drink lots of water.

You should also wash your hair every other day, as said by someone else on this post. But dont do this if your hair dries out. If it does, wash it every 4 days. Keeping the scalp clean all the time will help with the hair growth. Just do a condition rinse. Wash with water, rub scalp gently to get out the dirt, and then put in conditioner and rinse out. If you have a really dirty scalp, then you can clarify it once a week.

There is also a website called www.honeyfig.com. They have a few scalp oils that are all natural ingredients and aid in faster hair growth. Some are Jane carter solution scalp renew and wild growth oil. The ingredients are all natural and if you look up each one of them on a search engine, you will see that they are good for scalp nourishment.

You should also keep a low maintenance for now, like not styling your hair so much and doing simple hair styles where you dont have to comb and brush it all the time. This way, when the hair starts growing, you wont be destroying all the other good hair you have already. I hope this helps you, but if it isnt fast enough, you could always buy a wig or a ponytail extension. God bless.

Is it normal to have lighter hair when you grow up?

When I was a kid I had curly black hair and big gray eyes...and now I have straight brown hair and hazel eyes.Is it normal? Will it get darker or lighter later?

By the way I'm 14 years old.

Is it normal to have lighter hair when you grow up?

I was the same way, i had black and curly hair when i was small but now its straight and brown it gets lighter because the exposure to the sun and gets straight because that's whats in your DNA. Your hair will not get darker. If you want it darker just dye it.

Is it normal to have lighter hair when you grow up?

When I was a kid, my hair was light brown, then later, it turned medium to dark brown. Nowadays, since I have some gray, I dye my hair to my original hair color - light brown again. :) Report It

Is it normal to have lighter hair when you grow up?

yes

Is it normal to have lighter hair when you grow up?

It could just be because of the sun, the sun lightens your hair. When i was younger i thought i had grey hairs but they were just blonde highlights that were all summer natural!

Hope that helps?

Hair cut too short and not growing back?

My neice decided to cut her own bangs, and as most kids do, she cut them way too short (practically gone). However, it it has been a year and a half to two years and her bangs have not grown back at all. Anyone have anything similar? I thought this was weird, and obviously my neice wants her hair to grow back since it looks a little strange (only noticeble if you really pay attention, but it is noticeble). What can she do about it? All she has is like an inch or so of hair in that area and now it bothers her greatly. I am stumped. I know eyelashes can take awhile to grow back if cut (a guy told me this), could her hair be like that too? The rest of her hair she can cut and it grows like normal.

Hair cut too short and not growing back?

I dont know but I think I will be careful about cutting my hair now.

I hope her hair grows back ok.

Hair cut too short and not growing back?

this is really weird. hair is upposed to grow 1/2 inch every month. u shud talk to a doctor about whats wrong and if there is any hair products or medication to help it.

Hair cut too short and not growing back?

I've never heard of someones hair not growing back...I would probably want to get that checked out! Are you sure she isn't "trimming" it??

Hair cut too short and not growing back?

alright this is a simple answer ..... My daughter did this once... "she to cut her hair off to short".... I want you to go to the store tomorrow.. grab eggs and beer..... if your not old enough have her mother do it.... I want you to mix these two things together... pour the stuff in her hair... I know its gross... but it will work... leave it on for 5 mins..rubbing it in to the spot that won't grow back... and then wash it off do this twice a week for the next month.. you should see some progress if you do great repeat for another month until hair is grown.... also if its an inch braid it tightly every night... I know an inch is not alot but it can be done use a very small rubber band... make sure she wets her hair before she does this... the tighter the better.... in the morn take it out ... wet it again... then rebraid it....do this all the time.... with the help of the beer egg mixture it will grow back,......

Hair cut too short and not growing back?

That doesn't make sense that she cut that area almost 2 years ago and she only has an inch of growth. Cutting hair is external and has nothing to do with its growth. Growing starts inside the scalp and hair is not a living substance. Hair grows on average about 1/2 an inch a month. The reason for her hair not growing in that spot could be hereditary, alopecia or trauma to that area like constant hair pulling. She should get that checked out by a doctor.

Hair cut too short and not growing back?

I have 2 friends who's hair grow slower in some parts than it does in others. One of them didn't start looking normal untill high school.

The only thing that i know that can cause help hair grow faster is tie it in a pony tail. so i guess tie the bangs tight when she goes to bed or is around the house.

Hair cut too short and not growing back?

eat more vitamins and use a hair growth formula

Hair thinning at 22? Too young for Propecia?

Just turned 22 and my hairs thinning on top, my hair has a natural part which makes it hard to cover up and having short hair doesnt help, i mean my hair has been thin since im a kid but it looks more noticable now i.e gf has commented. Am i too young to use something like Propecia? Im worried if i dont do something about it now it will just get worse.

If i dont use wax/product in my hair its less noticable because my hair isnt stuck together as much, bit more boof but i work in retail and need to be looking reasonably smart .

Tips/Comments welcome! HELP :)

Hair thinning at 22? Too young for Propecia?

No, you aren't too young, but definitely consult with a doctor.

I started at 25. Catch it before it becomes a problem.

Product doesn't work for everyone, but it definitely works for me.

Ask for the generic proscar (5mg tablets) and then just break them into 1/4's.

Much cheaper!!!

Don't be shy to talk to your doctor about it. the side effects they speak of seem to be of a much lower occurence in reality, than people seem to think.

I know several people using it, without any adverse effects.

But be patient.. 6 -9 months before you can expect to see any real change!

Good luck!

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

I straighten my hair 2 times every week except in school holidays. I have Mark Hill ceramic straightneners and I put John Feida hair protection spray on before I straighten. I also put Avon kids detangle spray on afterwards.

Is my hair (and anything else related) going to be ok, and give me the brutal truth please. I just want to be sure that I'm not damaging myself.

Thanks, much appriciated

*Angel*

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

Your fine...It is very good that your using the protection spray. It is good that you give your hair rests. You could try for a little extra protection any straighting shampoos i know Garnae Frutis has a line of products for people who straighten their hair, that might be something you would want to look in to. But if you didnt you would still be fine!

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

your hair is going to fall out

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

i think you are doing a good job protecting your hair every time you straighten....

but not straightening it would be better =)

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

i straighten my hair more than that, but like you i dont do it on school holidays or weekends unless i go out...but i do use alot of protection spray...i dont know, i wanna know too if im damaging my hair

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

Yeah, you're doing a good job protecting your hair :)

But it would be a bit better if you only straighten once a week

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

every time you straighten your hair it gets weak, falls out, damages, breaks ends

don't continue to straighten!!

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

I been straightnening for 3 years everytime I wash my hair (2 times a week)and my hair is perfect. You should cut the split ends pretty often tho.

I dont know your brand but I use GHD ceramic.I have a long, big hair and I manage to iron it in 15 minutes because GHD is very good.I go maximum twice on a thread of hair and it's straight and slick. I dont use any other products, just dry my hair very very well before ironing. I am not sure it's good to use products bec they make your hair wet which might be worst than nothing to your hair plus you just add not needed chemicals. All the best !

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

As ourselves, hair also need to have a good rest...

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

it depends as different hair types can be more or less prone to damage. judge yourself if your hair is damaged by the amount of split ends that you have. if you have a lot, just getting your hair trimmed regularly will solve that problem. and by using heat protection, it sounds like you are already taking good care of your hair. if your hair is really dry or damaged, use conditioners for dry hair and once a week use a leave in conditioner. this will make your hair softer and in better condition.

older hair will also be more likely to be damaged, so if your hair is really long (so is old) the ends could be split.

sounds like your not eing too hard on it though, twice a week is not excessive for straightening

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

your doing everything right just make sure you have it trimmed on a regular basis to prevent split ends...

Professionals: Hair Straightening?

For straightening hair at home, you can use a hair iron and a straightening shampoo will also help. If you wish to straighten for a longer time, you can undergo Japanese hair straightening. I found this website useful - http://hcr.in/straighten.html

Hair supplements? target or walmart? kids?

Ok im 15 and my hair grows REALLY REALLY REALLY slow.

Im doing as much as i can to help it (drinking lots of water, getting lots of sleep, and so on) But i have heard that there are supplements to help it grow but i dont know what really works and what dosent.

Also since Im not an adult i dont know if this effects how much of the "pills" i could take.

Finnaly if you do reccomend the supplements please tell me if you know of any at like walmart of target. (we have like no walgreens around here or cvs)

thnx

Hair supplements? target or walmart? kids?

ok, heres the deal. hair grows 1/4 inch-1 inch per month, so thats about 6 inches per year if you're hair growns 1inch per month. there is no magic pill or supplement that is going to help it grow. you just have to be patient. make sure you get regular trims (every 3 months) to keep it looking healthy.

i had cut 12 inches off my hair to donate it to the kids with cancer..im not in a hurry but my hair is shoulder length

HELP me with my sons hair please?

Ok i have a almsot 2 year old son and i want to do somthing with his hair but i dont know how or what to do. i am greek and jap and my husband os black so his hair is all mixed up. I think it is changing again but it is very curly and started to dry out so i got him some tea tree oil for kids and it is helping but i want to do a style with his hair like twists or braids but i dont know how to do the twists and my husband wants him to have con rows but it isnt long enough in the front yet any ideas as to what i can do with his hair?

HELP me with my sons hair please?

I would try not to braid it if i were you because if your son is so young braiding it would pull on his hair and scalp.

HELP me with my sons hair please?

Leave his hair alone. Let his hair grow out some more before you start doing all kinds of crap to it. Just keep his scalp maintained. Braids are really tight, even on babies. He's too young to have all that stress on his roots. Black hair is sensitive and so are the roots. If his hair is too much for you to handle, trim or cut it until he gets to be about 4. THEN get it braided.

My hair is so dry and damaged. Please help me!?

My hair is so dry and damaged. Please help me!?

Garnier Fructis and Herbal Essence are really good for dry hair. (shampoos an condtioners)

if you try washing your hair t night..leaving the conditioner in your hair and putting a shower cap over it (i know its nerdy) and sleep in it and wash it out the next morning it might help.

Body hair. help?

i am hairy %26amp; depressed. everyone in my school calls me ape lady. i have no friends %26amp; my parents wont let me shave. the hair is very thick. i cry myself to sleep every night and wish i wasn't as hairy as the other 4th graders.my mother makes me wash/comb my body hair so it smells good but it always seems to pick up bad odors.all the other girls havent even started growing body hair. mother says im just an early bloomer.one time some girls caught me combing my body hair in the bathroom and took a picture of me and posted the picture all over the school. sometimes kids make me do a funny ape dance in front of a teacher so theyd give me my lunch money back. the teacher made me go to the principals office. i think i am getting dandruff in my body hair. mother says i cant shave until i moved out of the house. i want to live with mother and father forever!!! i will always be a hairy ape woman forever if you dont help me!

Body hair. help?

sooo if you really wre having this problem, tell your school counseler and talk to them...

Body hair. help?

I think you should tell your mom what you're going through. See what they have to say. I had the same problem but I decided to go against what my mom said, which was not to shave because it grows back, and she hasn't found out....(sssssshhh)

Body hair. help?

how about the circus?..could be very profitable for you...who needs school?..if you can get one of those bellhop outfits i think you could make a fortune and then who's laughing?

Body hair. help?

Save up your money -- go to Wal-Mart and get some product like Neet or Nair that you wipe on -- let sit -- and then rinse off in the shower. Who says parents are always right! Kids are cruel so do what you have to. Do a patch test first to see how the cream works on your skin on a small area of your inner arm.

Body hair. help?

omg ape women!!! ha ha, just shave with out her knowin and tell her later, trust me its beter gettin in truble

Body hair. help?

this is such a lie. ur jokin...but i guess you can either convince your parents to let you remove the hair, or you cover up

Body hair. help?

Aww sweetie it will all be ok. I know it seems just hopeless right now but it will all get better. Some girls just mature faster than others and that is what is happening to you. I can't really help in the maturing early section, because I didn't. I don't worry now though, because now I am where I should be. With you, you just need to tell yourself that you are beautiful no matter what. I know it makes you feel awful with the girls laughing, but here is what you do.

Just stand tall and don't let the other girls get you down. You tell them that you are just maturing faster and you can't help with what your body decides to do. Don't let them see that they are intimidating and hurting you because that is what they want to do. If you stand tall and proud you are showing them that you don't care what they think and that will make them back off, trust me, I know.

With the hair situation, if you have dark hair, your body automatically causes you to have thicker, darker hair. My cousin has dark hair and her hair is very thick. If you don't have dark hair, some people just naturally grow thicker hair. I know your mom won't let you shave, but maybe if she sees how this is really affecting you her perspective on it will change. I really hope this helps a little bit, and remember you are beautiful no matter what.

:)

Body hair. help?

Dont care about what other ppl think about u.JUst be urself. i use to have the same problem . why dont u jus explain to ur mom/parents that shaving or whatever is really important to you and tell ur parents how u are getting made fun of at school and they might let u shave. But if that doesnt work , you can always save up money and go to shoppers drug mart or any store that sells those type of products and u can but a pack of shavers from the company (venus) or sumthing and shave urself when u take a shower wihtout ur parents knowing.=) i hope everying works out!!=)

Body hair. help?

it sounds like a lie but if it is true take ur moms razor and shave anyways because if it is that bad then it need s to be done!!!!!!

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

This is not a racist questions k . just curious.

My kids will have coloured eyes ??

Say if i were to marry someone with coloured eyes(blue/green/grey etc)

I have dark brown eyes

Both my parents have dark brown eyes too.

My 2nd brother has light brown and youngest brother has cinnommon mix of green coloured though.

The rest of my siblings has dark brown colour.

I'm south east asian not mixed blood that i know of by the way.

Dad side : All have brown eyes including grandparents

Mom side: Grandfather has greyish blue

Grandmother dark brown

Was told that most of my grandfather side previous descendants have green/grey

and blue eyes and even red/blond hair..

I believed that likely my kids will still have dark coloured eyes..

any experts here?

Whays yr eye colour??

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

Go here and figure it out:

http://museum.thetech.org/ugenetics/eyeC...

:-)

You probably are mixed somewhere btw because your grandfathers side did have green/gray eyes and red/blonde hair. Everyone really is mixed though so just saying...

To answer your question I have gray/blue eyes and my husband is the same ethnicity as you and our kids have extremely dark brown (almost black) eyes. We have a 13 % chance of green and a 13 % chance of blue and a 74 % chance of brown for our children - and they came out with dark brown.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

If you have brown eyes, don't count on you kid having anything else. There's a slim chance, but brown eye gene almost always beats out colored eye genes.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

most likely dark eyes. I believe it's a dominant trait.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

I'm no expert but I know that dark brown over powers most colors

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

Of course they will be coulored, whether brown or blue. What are you asking? Brown is dominant. If they get 1 brown gene their eyes will be brown. If they get all four genes blue, then they will be blue. I have blue eyes.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

Brown is a dominant eye color, but if there are other colored eyes anywhere in either parents families, there is a chance that your child will have colored eyes.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

brown eyes are normaly dominate, you need a recessive for them to be another colour , while not being asian does increase teh chances of of other coloured eyes, you may well have the recsive gene

almost certainly brown

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

most likely they will also have brown eyes,

my ex had brown, my youngest son has brown

however my mum has green and dad blue and i have blue.

my elder son had and my daughter has blue as both my self and their father had blue..

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

What a stupid and ignorant question !

EVERYONE has 'coloured' eyes !!

Unless they don't have any eyes at all !

Sheesh !

What is brown if not a colour ??

And this is going to produce a child ??

Gawd help us all.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

my partner and i both have brown eyes our son was born with blue eyes which have now turned more green and our daughter has grey eyes both my partners dad and my grandmother have coloured eyes its called throw backs or something

but who really noes nobody can tell you thatbut good luck though.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

Your kids may adopt some of the family characteristics where by some will have colored eyes and others will not therefore the probability is ahalf.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

My husband has blue eyes, I have brown ! Both our kids have brown eyes . Having said that, my brothers kids ( who also has brown eyes, his wife has blue ) have blue eyes ! It's hard to tell really, but they do mostly end up with brown eyes .

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

You could still have a child with light coloured eyes depending on who the child's father is to be. But if the child's father also has brown eyes, there is no chance that the child will not have brown eyes.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

My grand daughters have blue eyes, blond hairs and brunette as well, Caucasian skin and I am south Indian and my wife is Caucasian. no one can guess their grandfather is an Indian.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

my husband and all his side of the family have blue i have hazel and one of my boys have brown eyes like me and the other has a mix of brown and bluey green

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

This is a genetics thing, dark genes are more dominent so the likely of you having kids with lighter colour eyes is quite slim but not impossible, my dad is blonde haired and blue eyed adn my mum is dark and both me and my brother are dark, you do find it happening though.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

WELL IF MOST OF YOUR FAMILY HAVE DARK BROWN EYE'S THEN SO WILL YOUR KIDS.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

well i have blue eyes and all three of my children have gorgeous blue eyes.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

All eyes have color

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

Genetics comes into play here, but the brown gene might carry through...

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

your kids probably will have color eyes.......if you go to school then ask a biology teacher.....she will probably give you a hint......

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

bend over and ill show you brown eyes

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

it all depends on if the baby has more of the mothers features or the father features in order to tell

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

i think theres no need of mentioning the colour of ur whole parentage's eyes.....eyes generally dont really r sure to be as same as their parents.........n if they even go similar then they go simialr with thier parents only not with their aunts,n uncles etc.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

Your children will almost surely have dark eyes because it is a dominant trait. I myself have dark brown eyes, however I wear blue colored contacts.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

You could have said "light eyes" rather than colored eyes, since all eyes are colored. And eye color has nothing to do with racism.

If there have been people previously in your family to have light colors, and you have children with someone who has light colored eyes, then there is a pretty good chance that one of your kids will have light colored eyes, since you probably carry the gene. But there is a higher chance for your kids to have darker eyes.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

there are certain probabilities that ur kids have colored eyes because if ur husband has black/dark brown eyes iand u have dark brown eyes well they are certainly gonna come out with black/darkbrown eyes...so it depends on who u marry and who u are

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

50/50

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

yeah i'm an excepert and i believe that there is about a 95% chance that your kids will have dark brown eyes and about a 5% chance that they will have lighter color eyes such as a light green or brown depending on what your bf's eye color is!!

my eyes are hazel and i know that my kids will have dark eyes will a low percentage of them being light!!

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

You are only half of the equasion -- it would also depend on the father -- dark colors are the dominant color -- If you marry a blonde haired man with blue eyes -- some of your children would probably have blonde hair and blue eyes.

Whats the probabilty that My kids will have coloured eyes ?? :-?

meaninigless question

I hate my new hair cut...How should I fix it until I get extentions?

It looks like the girl's on the left. Only exception is that I'm a brunette. Any help would be appreciated. *BTW-I'm 21, so I'm not looking for anything too little-kid like*

http://www.hair-news.com/short-hairstyle...

I hate my new hair cut...How should I fix it until I get extentions?

Well, there is nothing that you can really do if you don't want it to be "kid styled." Just put a nice hair gel or mousse to give your hair more volume.

I hate my new hair cut...How should I fix it until I get extentions?

Straighten your hair, and put your side bangs all off to one side! I think that would look cute! Btw! I think that hair cut looks really nice... try getting use to it!

I hate my new hair cut...How should I fix it until I get extentions?

It doesn't look that bad, but if you don't like it, wear a hat.

I hate my new hair cut...How should I fix it until I get extentions?

Is it short or still long enought to put in a pony tail? If its short, find a way to make it stylish, like put in highlights, or use gel. If its long keep it in a pony till you get extentions, it's not to little kid like is it? I put my hair in one while cooking....

I hate my new hair cut...How should I fix it until I get extentions?

It's long hair, so maybe you could cut it short! It may be a little different but that's why you wanna do it - to look different yet beautiful! Think Victoria Beckham!

Its cute! Embrace it! Work with your new hair!

Gel it up and spike it, or wavy and curl it, or wear it with clips, or you can do updos - french braids, ponytails, messy buns, or just keep it down! I really do love it. Make the best of it. If you go to different sites for short hair styles, you can get ideas.

Don't get extensions, they look fake most of the time and I'm sure you can get used to it. Short hair is a cute look and it does grow back. If you want to change it up a bit dye it, cut it choppy and layered and use product to make it look cool. Or just part it differently so the bangs lay differently on your face.

I hate my new hair cut...How should I fix it until I get extentions?

the same thing happened to me.what i did was try to do different things with my hair to see what i liked. like flipping it out, flipping my hair to one side to make side bangs, putting it in pigtails, and many other things. also if i saw a cute hair style on t.v. or in a magazine that i liked i got out my straightener and styling products and copped what i saw. don't be afraid to try new things with your hair.

Should I cut my hair kinda bald and get the hair line or let it grow so i can look like a average te

I only have 1 year left to to be a kid so I need a hair style.Almost bald or rocker type.

Should I cut my hair kinda bald and get the hair line or let it grow so i can look like a average teen.?

Wear the hair! let me ask you something. Does the men on your mothers side of the family have hair? Did you know that thats how to determine how much hair you will have when you are older. I say enjoy the hair while you have it but dont wear in a fashion that might shock your parents and family.

Should I cut my hair kinda bald and get the hair line or let it grow so i can look like a average teen.?

Is hair loss normal after being diagnosed & treated for type 1 diabetes?

My 9 yr old daughter was diagnosed on 12-17-07 %26amp; after a week in the hospital she came home. She started to be sick during Thanksgiving week %26amp; got steadily worse. Her pediatrition said she was fine %26amp; I was crazy. Even though she lost 30 lbs! She was already a skinny kid to begin with! Luckily I took her to the ER before she went into a coma. But now that we're managing her diabetes, she has gained her weight back %26amp; she has even grown. But she has lost a ton of hair! Her temples are bald. It looks like it's growing back, but it's not as thick. I understand that she was sick for a long time %26amp; this is bound to happen. But I didn't think that she would lose so much. She loses handfuls when she brushes it %26amp; when she washes it. The kids in school have started to notice %26amp; they haven't been kind. Her endocrinologist says the hair loss is normal, but I have my doubts. So I was wondering if anyone who knows could tell us. Thank you.

Is hair loss normal after being diagnosed %26amp; treated for type 1 diabetes?

I can tell you from personal experience that hair loss is not associated with being diabetic. My son was diagnosed with being diabetic 6 yrs ago at age 6. He never had any hair loss. he was really sick before we found out what was going on but not to the degree you are describing.I got really ill and was diagnosed with it and my hair started falling out in handfuls. i have wondered if the circulation issues associated with taking insulin could slow down hair growth but from my research, thats not really something that is a fact. However hair loss is a result of over stress to the body. Any time we are sick in a way that is life threatening it can cause hair loss. If it continues the thyroid hormone should be checked because that greatly affects hair growth. Also the mail / female hormones in the body can be off balance and cause hair loss. Stress in and of itself ,mostly physical stress, is deadly to hair growth as i have found. there are articles online if you look up female hair loss that are helpful to read. i wish you luck i understand what its like to feel like your going bald. it is scary.

Is hair loss normal after being diagnosed %26amp; treated for type 1 diabetes?

Sad to say that yes, some hair loss shortly after diagnosis AND from the pre-illness of this disease does happen. Please have hope though. Your daughter's hair WILL grow back eventually(at her normal rate of hair growth for her)and be just as beautiful as it was before her diagnosis. Some things diet wise that will help her hair and nails and skin are sugar free/kosher gelatin, lean protean and some(about half the dosage for adults) glucosomine and condroiten. I hate to say this, as she's so young, when she gets to puberty, she's going to face some unique problems. With her rapid hormone changes and body growth, you'll be seeing her doctor quite often to adjust her insulin/s. Not to mention her diet too. Also, she may not have very easy menstrual cycles either due to the diabetes. They can be longer and more intense. Then there's the fact that she's going to heal and regenerate from injuries quite a bit slower than her friends. And something not a lot of doctors are going to tell you: Insulin is made from a man-made bacteria. Any kind of antibiotic WILL not only destroy the bacterial infection, it will also kill off a lot of her insulin too. So be careful when she's on antibiotics.

Is hair loss normal after being diagnosed %26amp; treated for type 1 diabetes?

I have experienced about a 30% reduction in body hair volume (which I have welcomed as I was occasionally called big-foot while growing up). However, I have also noticed a large change in how my hair grows and how it is distributed on my head. I feel it becoming thinner. I have read that this is the case for diabetics, and I am sad to hear it (generally, and for me, and also for your daughter). It may return and it is also possible that this may be, to some extent, something that she has to live with. I am going on 4 years now and I have not noticed a return to my normal hair growth patterns.

Is hair loss normal after being diagnosed %26amp; treated for type 1 diabetes?

Well, you did have someone who knows tell you. Your endocrinologist knows.

Yes, this is within norms for diabetes. Its a shock to the system and it will take time for her body to recover. Hair is sacrificed when the body undergoes malnutrition, and while diabetes causes excess sugar in the bloodstream, there is not enough sugar in the cells, so its actually a form of malnutrition. That's why she also lost weight.

Her cells could not utilize the sugar in her bloodstream, that comes from carbohydrates in her food. That's what causes the fatigue in untreated diabetes, the cells are literally starving for food in the form of glucose (sugar)

It may take months for it to really grow back, or she may have this problem for longer. The better you can control her diabetes and reduce the stress on her body, the better.

Her hair loss is something you are going to have to find a way to help her through. Perhaps you should talk to someone involved with wigs and other solutions for kids with cancer. I know she doesn't have cancer, but she does have one of the problems that chemo causes, and there are charities that help kids with this problem. They might be willing to help her.

Is hair loss normal after being diagnosed %26amp; treated for type 1 diabetes?

When I was diagnosed with diabetes (and for 3-6 months after) I lost loads and loads of hair.

The doctors were v non-commital about whether this was diabetes related, but I did a fair bit of my own research and it seems that it's very common indeed.

You (and you daughter) will be pleased to hear that, after a few months, I stopped losing mt hair and it started growing back - pretty soon I had v v thick hair again.

The research I did suggests that hairloss is not specific to diabetes, but is similar to the hairloss suffered by a large number of women when pregnant - apparently any condition in which your normal hormonal state is altered (prgnancy, diabetes, thyroid problems etc) can affect your hair causing you either to lose it or to grow it excessively. When the hormone balance is restored (in this case, by taking insulin) the hair will go back to normal.

Good luck with the diabetes - sounds like you're doing well - don't let it affect your lives too much - it doesn't need to :-)

Is hair loss normal after being diagnosed %26amp; treated for type 1 diabetes?

Yes, this is totally normal, but isn't mentioned enough in most of the info we get.

Anytime a person abruptly goes on medications it causes changes in especially the hair!! This goes for any medication!!

Her hair will grow back and be thick and nice eventually, but it does take a while. It takes the average hair 7 years before it dies and a new hair takes its place for normal people. We all lose a bit each day.

Is hair loss normal after being diagnosed %26amp; treated for type 1 diabetes?

Ohhh ... you poor thing! My 2 year old daughter was diagnosed 11/10/07, so I understand how hard it's been for you. That's terrible her pediatrician didn't do anything. Maybe you should try and find a different one? My daughter's pediatrician is wonderful, he suspected what it was right away. And as a result she was in the hospital before she started to get really sick.

And yes ... hair loss is normal. It has nothing to do with medications as Sue said. When I had gestational diabetes I lost so much hair I had a little bald spot on top of my head. And I never took medications for it, I controlled mine with diet. Don't worry, it will grow back and quit falling out once you have her blood sugars under control.

Email me anytime if you want to talk :o)

Is hair loss normal after being diagnosed %26amp; treated for type 1 diabetes?

You know, I was 16 and all kinds of odd things happened to me, can't recall hair loss being one of them, but it wouldn't surprise me. My eyesight got better for a few months...I went back to wearing glasses I hadn't worn in about 8 years! My breasts grew another cup size. I sprouted another inch in height. I'm sure this is a temporary thing. Give it another year or two and I'm sure it will get back to normal.

I never lost hair when i was diagnosed my hair acually was getting thicker... maybe its different in every person

A 1980's hair conditioner that squirted like mousse- anyone remember it?

When I was a kid I had very long hair that I hated having combed through after washing- ouch! To ease the pain, my sister used to put a bright yellow conditioner in my hair which I loved squirting out of it's metal bottle like a moose. The bottle was small and I think the conditioner itself may have smelt of bananas...anyone remember it?

Dying hair while pregnant?

With every doctor I've seen in each of my pregnancies (totalling 5 pregnancies and 8 doctors) I was always told that their has been no conclusive studies to prove that dying your hair while pregnant causes any harm to the baby. Yesterday I got into a bit of an argument because my cousin who is also pregnant insists that you can not dye your hair while pregnant, I told her how I was told by 8 different doctors that there is no proof that dying your hair is a risk but my cousin is arrogant and always has to be right - even when she knows she's wrong she'll never go back on what she originally said. So I was wondering what everyone else has been told about the misconception of dying your hair while pregnant puts the baby at risk. (oh and by the way I continued to dye my hair in every one of my pregnancies, at least twice with each one, and all of my kids are 100% healthy)

Dying hair while pregnant?

I would like to know the answer to this one also. I didn't know I was pregnant at the time of dying my hair. I am still in the early stages so I don't know if it has done any harm or not. (I pray it hasn't)

Dying hair while pregnant?

it's safe as long as you are in an open area so you aren't breathing in the fumes. that's mostly the only concern with dying your hair is the fumes. i dyed my hair a few times while pregnant. every dr and ever hair stylist i've come across say's it's safe! some women just want to be extra extra extra careful with every single thing and sit in a big bubble until their baby is born!

it will not get into your bloodstream especially if you do it right and don't touch your head at all with the dye!

Dying hair while pregnant?

Im With You On This One I Dye My Hair Every 6-8 Weeks Out Of Boredum And My OBGYN And My Doctor Told Me It Would Be Fine If I Wasn't Planning On Eating It LOL

Dying hair while pregnant?

i am the same as you, there is no proof and ive done it 3 times during my pregnancy and so far everything looks good. My dr said it was ok to do, the ladys at the hair salon said it was perfectly fine and my fiances mother who is a RN said dying your hair is fine, its perming and chemically straightening your hair that is considered bad. i just think to myself...those people that think its bad dont have to dye their hair....but if im going to do it they cant stop me.

Dying hair while pregnant?

I've heard all sort of things about chemicals seeping into your body and blah blah blah blah blah but my doctors have told me the same thing as yours... nothing conclusive. What could be harmful is the FUMES because I think they could POTENTIALLY leave deposits in your baby's placenta or some something like that. But I've dyed my hair twice (once at the salon and one with an ammonia-free at home application) and the doctor said it was ok, just not to over-do it. Just go out and have fun with your hair!!!

Dying hair while pregnant?

My doctor said that breathing in the chemicals or having them directly on your head for too long could cause certain "triggers" if you are already pron to a problem. I did dye my hair when I was pregnant but wore a cloth mouth cover so I didn't breath it in due to lupus problems in the family that can be triggered by the chemicals. Most people don't have any problem what so ever but as with anything there are the one in a million that it does cause problems with. The studies now aren't clear but it is recommended by most doctors (3 for my son who is now 8months old and 1 for my current pregnancy) not to do anything involving strong chemicals.

Dying hair while pregnant?

I've never heard anything bad about dying your hair while you're pregnant. I read most docs say to wait until after the first trimester because that's when the baby is more prone to defects. But they haven't proved that it can really do any harm. Your cousin sounds like a brat, sorry. But in this case I would say you're both right and both wrong. I wouldn't dye my hair, the fumes would make me sick.

Dying hair while pregnant?

The last time I was told that was with the pregnacy of my first child in 1990! This misconception goes with not lifting your arms above your head or you'll rap the cord around the neck of the child. It is an old wives tail. But you know if she does not want to dye her hair it really does not matter, her hair, her baby. Lots of people follow "old lady advice" and it makes them feel better.

Dying hair while pregnant?

I asked my doctor and he told me that there isnt any proof it will do anything. Some people have heard some misinformation and they swear to it on they're dieing day. I went as far as to ask the hair dresser and contact the company that made the dye, (they were very nice and informative by the way) alls I was told was that there arent any studies that prove it can hurt the baby, but they recommend that when you get your hair highlighted leave a small amount of root unsaturated. (that was my hairdressers advice) but I told her to just do like normal and I have 2 children and they are fine!

Dying hair while pregnant?

Don't eat it and Don't get high on the fumes!

I'm curious as to how else it would get into your bloodstream? If your cousin believes it can seep through your head, then you'd better not be using any shampoos, soaps, or lotions while you are pregnant either! LOL!

Dying hair while pregnant?

I died my hair red all throughout my first pregnancy and I was highlighting my hair all through my second. I had full-term, normal pregnancies and very healthy babies. My doctor, too (during both pregnancies), said there was no legitimate reason to not color my hair. She just advised me to not breath the fumes, so I simply placed a towel over my face if the smell bothered me. Your cousin sound like a know-it-all. Ignore her.

Dying hair while pregnant?

It gets absorbed into your bloodstream! I wouldn't risk that, I'm waiting till I have my child to dye my hair!
