What about if you french-braided it from the side-part down just a little ways and then secured the pony-tails flat instead of at right-angles to your head. Miley's hair looks like it was braided wet and then taken out (after it dried). Don't worry I would never trash Miley, I love her dad too.

if the ponytails are lower and not so high on ur head it wont look like a little kid to be even more less-little-kid-ish use a side part instead of a center part just make sure if u do that ur hair isnt relly thick [like mine] cus if it is ur hair might look uneven and a center part wld look btr nd not little kiddish
