Im black and whenever i get cornrows or braids after i take them out my hair won't grow why won

My mom suggested that i keep wearing cornrows or braids until my hair gorws longer. Its at my ears. so my hair is kinda short. My mom said perms are unhealthy for my hair. So what should i do? My moms hair dresser keeps cutting the ends of my hair becuase it's damaged. Is that the reason why my hair won't grow? I dont feel like tying it up every night.....even though i have to. But cornrows/braids dont work. And my ponytail is actually 2 incnes long. So how do i make it longer? without perms or braids. My friend suggested something called "HAIR MAYONAISE" but i didnt see it in the store. ALL HAIR DRESSERS PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION! IM 13 SO I NEED HAIR HELP!! Also the kids at my school keep teasing me about my hair so i really need help!!

Don't worry, remember; you wanna focuz on getting your hair healthier FIRST, becuz otherwise all its gonna do is break off as much as it grows. A really good conditioner or hot oil treatment will strengthen yur hair and help it to grow and not break. Your freind was also right about the hair mayyonaise. I used it last summer (when i had relaxed my hair n it started to break BAD) AND it did WONDERS!lol yeah yu can get it in the black ppl hair section at any shoppers drugmart. a good conditioner is dudleys. Stay away frum the white people conditioner; its not made for our type of hair :p )

as far as braiding goes, i think yu should give it a rest. Too much braiding can thin out hair and damage it because of the stress on it when its done tight. I think a cute look for you is if yu texturise (curl) your hair and have it curly this summer. As far as the damage done, its minimal, and it gives a chance to be natural and be healthy.

im not a hair stylist but i think you should use hot oil treatments, and for styling i think you should wear curls such as flex's or straw curls. Aphogee products and doo-gro are both good to promote hair growth.

if you keep getting braids ask whoever did the braids for some tips on good hair greese and moistorizer. you should try dr.miracle's hair products it really grows hair. my hair was at my ears and in about threee months it was at my shoulders, but i wont grows fast cuz black folks hair doenst grow dat fast so u have to be patient
