I had put my hair in rollers yesterday and it was just dry when I called my son in for dinner. He was playing outside with water pistols with his friend and both of them soaked my hair, as I was going out for dinner I was really angry with him and had to go down to the local salon to use a dryer on my hair

As a punishment I am thinking about roller setting his longish hair to teach him a lesson about the time and effort that it takes a women to get her hair looking good.

Should I do this as I do not beleive in smacking my kids I have spoken to my sister about this and she thinks that this is a good idea

i think that is a good punishment. also, you could try sitting him down and telling him what he did wrong and tell him to be more carefull.

but still, i would stick with your "rolling his hair" punishment.

No I wouldn't do anything in retaliation. It teaches him revenge. Just explain to him that it caused you extra time or whatever and that you didn't appreciate it. It wasn't a nice thing for him to do. Sometimes giving them the cold shoulder works wonders. They can't stand for mom to be mad at them for long. lol

I think that's an awful idea! Do unto others as you want them to do unto you. Kids learn by example - what kind of example would you be setting?? That would be like me putting on fresh lipstick and having my son smear it with his fingers as soon as I got it on, and then making him wear it! Or like knocking down a castle of legos, after all the time they spent doing it. Curlers do not belong in a boys hair, no matter what the lesson that needs to be taught.

Did you try talking to him and explaining why it was wrong and why you were upset? Retaliation is not the asnwer. Does heplay vidoe games?

Perhaps let him play and when he gets to a certian level, tell him you are going to shut it off without him saving it first. Explain to him you understand how hard he worked and how long it took to get to that level, and that that is how you felt when they deliberately wet your hair after the time and effort you put in. Then ask him if he understands, I'm sure that wil teach him the lesson without undermining his growing self esteem and masculinity.
